Wildhorse Saloon Fried Pickles Recipe
Ingredients
- 2 cups All-Purpose Flour
- 1/2 cup Old Bay Seasoning
- 2 cups Buttermilk
- 1 cup 1/4-inch cut Crinkle Kosher Dill Pickle Chips
- Vegetable Oil to fry
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, add flour and Old Bay seasoning. Mix well. Set aside briefly.
- Pour buttermilk in to another medium bowl. Set aside briefly.
- Drain pickles in a colander.
- Place still damp pickle chips in the seasoned flour. Toss to coat fully.
- Remove from flour and shake off excess.
- Dip in buttermilk. Turn to coat fully.
- Then toss back into seasoning flour. Toss to coat fully. Leave in flour while heating oil.
- Pour enough oil into a large skillet or pot to deep fry pickle chips. (Alternately, use a deep fryer, if you have one.)
- Place skillet or pot over medium heat and heat oil to 350°F.
- When oil is hot, remove pickle chips, a few at a time, from flour, shaking off excess, and place in hot oil.
- Fry until golden brown.
- Remove and continue with remaining pickles until done.
- Serve hot with plenty of good dipping sauces, store bought or homemade, of choice (See Box Below for Links to Recipes)
