Ruth’s Chris Steak House Garlicy White Remoulade Sauce
Ruth’s Chris Steak House Garlicy White Remoulade Sauce is based on a family recipe from Plaquemines Parish with roots in France.
In New Orleans there are two kinds of remoulade. The most common is Red Remoulade. It is made with paprika, cayenne, lemon and olive oil. You can find it everywhere including famous restaurants like Galatoire’s.
The other remoulade is the garlicky mayonnaise-based, White Remoulade like this recipe. It is a more classically French version.
Zatarain’s brand Creole Mustard is important for the substitute a grainy dark mustard.
Ruth's Chris Steak House Remoulade Sauce Recipe
Ingredients
- 8 ounces Mayonnaise
- 4 ounces Zatarain's Creole Mustard (Zatarain's is important for the authentic Ruth's Chris taste - But substitute a grainy dark mustard if you can not find it.)
- 3 cloves Garlic chopped fine
- 3 tablespoons freshly squeezed Lemon Juice
- 1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire Sauce
- 1/4 teaspoon Tabasco Sauce (Like Zatarain's Creole Mustard, Tabasco Sauce is important for the authentic Ruth's Chris taste - But substitute another Louisiana-Style Hot Sauce if you prefer.)
- 3 tablespoons Parsley minced
- 2 Green Onions minced
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, add mayonnaise, mustard, garlic, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce and Tabasco sauce. Mix well.
- Add parsley and green onions. Mix gently but well.
- Store in a tightly sealed container, in the refrigerator, for at least 4 hours or overnight, or until ready to serve, up to a week.
