Legal Sea Foods Bacon-Wrapped BBQ Shrimp Recipe
Equipment
- Toothpicks
Ingredients
- 1 pound Large Shrimp peeled, deveined and, if desired, tails removed
- 3/4 to 1 pound Bacon
- Legal Sea Foods BBQ Sauce See Box Below for this Recipe
- Salt and freshly ground Black Pepper to taste
Instructions
- Prepare Legal Sea Foods BBQ Sauce according to the recipe in the Box below. Set aside.
- Preheat oven to 375°F.
- Rinse shrimp under cold water. Pat dry.
- Cut bacon slices in 1/2 crosswise.
- Holding a shrimp in your hand, wrap the bacon around it. Use a toothpick to secure it. (If you left the tail portion on the shrimp, be sure not to wrap the tail so that your guests will see it an know not to eat it. Personally, I like to remove it.)
- Place shrimp in a baking pan, bacon seam side down.
- Continue with remaining shrimp until all are done.
- Place any remaining bacon slices in pan.
- Place pan in preheated oven. Bake for 10 minutes.
- Remove from the oven. Drizzle a small amount of sauce over each shrimp. Return to the oven. Bake for another 5 minutes.
- Remove from oven. Allow to rest for 5 minutes before serving.
- Add salt and pepper, to taste, if desired.
- Serve hot with extra BBQ sauce on the side for dipping.

Legal Sea Foods BBQ Sauce Recipe
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup dried Cherries or Cranberries
- 1/2 cup Red Wine
- 1 cup of your favorite BBQ Sauce store bought or homemade, of choice
- 1/2 - 1 teaspoon Worcestershire Sauce
- 1 tablespoon A1 Sauce (See Box Below for this Recipe)
- Red Pepper Flakes
- 1 tablespoon Honey
- 1/2 teaspoon Cider Vinegar
Instructions
- Place dried fruit in a saucepan. Add enough water to just cover the dried fruit.
- Place over high heat and bring to a boil.
- Lower heat and simmer for 10 minutes, being careful to not let it boil dry. Add water, if needed.
- Add wine. Gently simmer for another 20 minutes, or until all but about 2 teaspoons of liquid is absorbed. Remove from heat.
- Add barbecue sauce Worcestershire sauce, A1 sauce, a generous sprinkling of red pepper flakes, honey and cider vinegar.
- Place pan back on the stove, over medium high heat. Bring mixture to a boil. Lower heat and bring to a simmer. Simmer, stirring occasionally for about 15 minutes.
- Remove from heat. Cool slightly.
- Place mixture in a blender. Blend just long enough to break up the fruit, about 10 - 15 seconds.
- Store in a tightly sealed container, in the refrigerator, until ready to serve up to 2 weeks.
