Fried Rice
Fried Rice is a beloved dish that hails from Chinese cuisine and has become a staple in various Asian and global culinary traditions.
It typically involves stir-frying pre-cooked rice with a medley of ingredients, such as vegetables, eggs and often a protein like chicken, shrimp or pork. Seasonings and sauces, like soy sauce or oyster sauce, are added to infuse the dish with flavor.
The key to perfect fried rice is high heat and constant stirring in a wok, allowing the rice to develop a slightly crispy texture while absorbing the savory, aromatic essence of the ingredients.
Fried rice is incredibly versatile, making it a favorite for using up leftovers and creating a flavorful one-pan meal. Its popularity stems from its delightful combination of textures and flavors, making it a comfort food enjoyed around the world.
