Abuelo's Refried Beans Recipe
Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons Vegetable Oil
- 1 can Pinto Beans drained and rinsed
- 1 tablespoon cooked and crumbled Bacon
- 1/2 teaspoon Salt
- 1/2 cup shredded Cheddar Cheese or Cheddar Jack Cheese
Instructions
- Place oil in a small skillet.
- Place skillet over medium heat.
- When oil is hot and shimmering, add beans, bacon and salt.
- Stir until beans are heated through.
- Remove from heat and place in a mixing bowl.
- Mash with a potato masher to desired consistency.
- Place in a shallow serving bowl.
- Sprinkle shredded cheese over top.
- Microwave or broil to melt the cheese.
- Serve hot.
