Mastro's Creamed Corn Recipe
Ingredients
- 1/4 pound Butter
- 1/4 cup All-Purpose Flour
- 1/2 tablespoon Salt
- 1/4 teaspoon White Pepper
- 2 1/2 cups Half & Half
- 3 cups frozen cut Sweet Corn
Instructions
- To a large sauce pan, add butter.
- Place pan over medium low heat and melt butter.
- When butter has melted and is hot, do not burn, add flour. Whisk to combine.
- Cook for about 5 minutes.
- Whisk in salt, pepper and half & half. Cook for another 5 minutes, whisking constantly to make sure not to burn bottom of pan. Check temperature - Mixture must reach 170°F.
- Add corn. Continue to stir mixture while heating for 3 to 5 minutes.
- Serve hot.
