Houlihan's Restaurant & Bar Jambalaya Rice Recipe
Make our Houlihan's Restaurant & Bar Jambalaya Rice Recipe at home. With our Secret Restaurant Recipe your Jambalaya Rice will taste just like Houlihan's Restaurant & Bar.
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 tablespoons Vegetable Oil
- 1 cup sliced or large-diced Andouille Sausage
- 1 cup diced Yellow Onion
- 1/2 cup seeded and diced Green Pepper
- 1/2 cup sliced or diced Celery
- 1 cup diced boneless skinless Chicken Breasts or Thighs
- 1/2 teaspoon Salt
- 1/4 teaspoon Cayenne Pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground White Pepper
- 1 teaspoon freshly ground Black Pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon Thyme
- 1/4 tablespoon Tabasco Hot Sauce
- 1/4 cup puréed Garlic
- 2 tablespoons Chicken Base
- 1/2 cup canned diced Tomatoes liquid removed well
- 2 cups White Rice
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F.
- Place a large pot or kettle over medium heat.
- Add oil.
- When oil is hot and shimmering, add sausage. Sauté until crisp.
- Add onions, green pepper and celery. Sauté until tender. Mix well.
- Add in chicken. Sauté until about 2 minutes.
- Add salt, cayenne, white and black pepper, thyme, Tabasco, garlic puree and chicken base. Mix well. Cook, stirring, for 3 to 5 minutes.
- Add diced tomatoes. Mix well. Cook, stirring, for 4 minutes.
- Add white rice. Mix very well. Cook for 2 minutes.
- Remove from heat.
- Turn mixture out into a large cooking dish or rectangular baking pan (9 by 13-inch). Cover pan with foil.
- Place pan in preheated oven and cook for 20 to 30 minutes, until rice is tender.
- Remove from oven and serve warm.
