Black Angus Steakhouse Big Mountain Chocolate Cake Recipe
Ingredients
Cake
- 2 cups Flour
- 2 cups Sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon Salt
- 2 Eggs
- 1/2 cup Buttermilk
- 1 teaspoon Baking Soda
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla
- 1 cup Butter
- 4 tablespoons Cocoa
- 1 cup hot Water
Icing
- One 1-pound box Powdered Sugar
- 1/2 cup Butter
- 4 tablespoons Cocoa
- 6 tablespoons Milk
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla
- 1 cup Pecans Walnuts or other Nuts, of choice
To Serve
- Vanilla Ice Cream
- Chocolate Syrup
Instructions
Cake
- Preheat oven to 350°F.
- Sift together flour, sugar and salt. Set aside.
- In separate bowl, add eggs, buttermilk, soda and 1 teaspoon vanilla. Beat to mix well. Set aside.
- In a saucepan add 1 cup butter, 4 tablespoons cocoa and water.
- Place saucepan over medium high heat. Bring to a boil.
- Combine 3 mixtures. Mix until well-blended.
- Pour into a greased 9 x 13-inch pan.
- Place pan in preheated oven. Bake 25 minutes.
- Remove from oven. Set aside to cool.
Icing
- Place powdered sugar in a large mixing bowl. Set aside.
- Place 1/2 cup butter, 4 tablespoons cocoa and milk in a pot.
- Place over medium heat. Bring to a boil.
- Pour mixture over powdered sugar. Mix well.
- Add 1 teaspoon vanilla and nuts. Mix well.
- Pour icing over cake while it's hot.
- Cool cake. Cut.
- Place a square of cake on a serving plate.
- Top with a dollop of vanilla ice cream.
- Drizzle with chocolate syrup.
- Serve.
