Guacamole
Guacamole is a delicious and versatile Mexican dip that has gained immense popularity worldwide. It is made primarily from ripe avocados, which are mashed to a creamy consistency, and then enhanced with a medley of ingredients such as lime juice, freshly diced tomatoes, minced onions, garlic, cilantro and jalapeño or other chili peppers.
Guacamole dates all the way back to the Aztec Empire in Central America during the 1500s. When the Spanish came to the Americas, they fell in love with this dip, but struggled to pronounce the name, “ahuaca-mulli”, correctly. Over time, the name evolved into “guacamole”.
Guacamole is incredibly versatile, serving as a dip for tortilla chips, a topping for tacos, burritos and nachos, or a condiment for various dishes. This beloved Mexican creation has transcended borders and is now cherished worldwide for its delicious and wholesome appeal, making it a staple in many kitchens and restaurants globally.
