Bahama Breeze Rum and Coke BBQ Sauce Recipe
Ingredients
- Rum & Coke BBQ Sauce
- One 12-ounce can or bottle Coke
- Freshly squeezed Juice of 1/2 Lime
- 1/4 cup freshly squeezed Orange Juice
- 1/2 teaspoon Allspice
- 1 Cinnamon Stick
- 1/4 cup Cornstarch
- 1/4 cup Water
- 1/2 cup Spiced Rum Captain Morgan’s, Myers's or other, of choice
- 1/2 cup BBQ Sauce, store bought or homemade (See Box below for Links to some Secret Copycat Restaurant Recipes for BBQ Sauces.)
Instructions
- Add coke, lime juice, orange juice, allspice and cinnamon to a small pot.
- Place over medium high heat and bring to a boil. Reduce heat. Simmer for 2 minutes.
- In a small bowl or cup, combine cornstarch and water. Mix well. Add mixture to the simmering liquid. Continue to simmer while stirring with a whisk for 5 minutes. Remove from heat.
- Add rum and BBQ sauce. Mix well. Strain to remove solids.
- Store in a tightly sealed container, in the refrigerator, until ready to serve up to 2 weeks.
