Outback Steakhouse Onion Rings Recipe
Make our Outback Steakhouse Onion Rings Recipe at home. With our Secret Restaurant Recipe your Onion Rings will taste just like Outback Steakhouse.
Yield: 6 Servings
Ingredients
- 2 cups All-Purpose Flour
- 1 Egg beaten
- 2 teaspoons dried Parsley
- 2 teaspoons Garlic Powder
- 2 teaspoons dried Oregano
- Salt and freshly ground Black Pepper to taste
- 1 cup good Beer Not light
- 1 cup or more Oil for frying
- 3 large Onions peeled, sliced into thick rings and separated
Instructions
- In a large shallow bowl, add flour, egg, parsley, garlic powder, oregano, salt and pepper. Mix to combine.
- Slowly pour in beer, stirring, until a thick batter forms. Stop adding beer when you reach your desired consistency of the batter. Drink the rest. 😉
- Add oil to a heavy frying pan to about 2 inches deep .
- Place pan over medium-high heat and heat oil until hot and shimmering.
- When oil is hot, dip onions rings, a few at a time, in batter. Allow excess batter to drip off and carefully place in hot oil.
- Fry rings for a few minutes, turning once, until evenly browned on both sides. Remove to a paper towel-covered plate to drain.
- Continue until all rings are fried.
- Serve hot with Dipping Sauces (See Box below for Links to Some Good Ones!)
