Aladdin's Eatery Baklava Recipe
Ingredients
- Aladdin's Eatery Honey Syrup (See Box Below for this Recipe)
- Vegetable Shortening to grease pan
- 1 pound Phyllo Dough
- 1 pound Chopped Walnuts
- 1 teaspoon ground Cinnamon
- 4 tablespoons Sugar
- 1 pound Solid Vegetable Shortening melted
Instructions
- Prepare Aladdin's Eatery Honey Syrup according to the recipe in the Box below. Set aside and allow to cool to room temperature or in a refrigerator.
- Preheat oven to 350°F.
- Use shortening to grease an 18 x 12-inch heavy pan with high sides. Do not use a cookie sheet.
- Spread 1/2 of the phyllo dough across bottom.
- In a small bowl, combine nuts, cinnamon and sugar. Mix well.
- Sprinkle nut mixture evenly over of dough.
- Top evenly with remaining 1/2 of phyllo dough.
- With a sharp knife, slice diagonal crisscross cuts through dough, about an inch apart, creating diamond-shaped pieces.
- Pour melted shortening over all.
- Place pan in preheated oven and bake for 45 minutes.
- Remove from over and pour cold syrup over all.
- Let baklava cool before serving.

Aladdin's Eatery Honey Syrup Recipe
Ingredients
- 2 cups Water
- 4 cups Sugar
- 2 tablespoons Honey
- 1 tablespoon freshly squeezed Lemon Juice
Instructions
- Bring water and sugar to boil in saucepan.
- When sugar has dissolved, reduce heat to simmer.
- Add honey and lemon juice. Stir to combine.
- Remove from heat.
