Olive Garden Tortellini al Forni Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 1/4 pounds Cheese Tortellini
- Chopped fresh Parsley
- Freshly grated Parmesan Cheese
Tomato Basil Cream Sauce
- 2 cups peeled crushed drained Plum Tomatoes
- 1 Chicken Bouillon Cube mashed
- 4 teaspoons dried Basil
- 2 teaspoons chopped fresh Parsley
- 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground Black Pepper
- 1/4 cup Olive Oil
- 2 large cloves Garlic minced
- 2 cups Heavy Cream
- 4 tablespoons freshly grated Parmesan Cheese
Instructions
- Prepare pasta according to package directions. Drain. Set aside.
- Chop tomatoes in chunky pieces. Place tomatoes into a medium cooking pot.
- Place pot over low heat.
- Add bouillon, basil, 2 teaspoons chopped fresh parsley and pepper. Stir to mix.
- Pour oil into a medium skillet. Place over medium heat.
- When oil is hot and shimmering, add garlic. Sauté until just white.
- Add garlic to sauce. Increase heat slightly and bring just to a simmer.
- When sauce is hot, add heavy cream to a non-aluminum skillet. Place over medium heat and bring to a slow boil.
- Add hot tomato sauce. Stir.
- Add 4 tablespoons freshly grated Parmesan cheese. Stir well to melt cheese.
- Add tortellini into the pan of tomato basil cream sauce. Stir to mix and heat to eating temperature.
- Serve, topped with chopped parsley and Parmesan cheese.
