Many people only know the name Watergate from The Watergate scandal was a political scandal that occurred as a result of the June 17, 1972, break-in at the Democratic National Committee headquarters at the Watergate Office Complex and the resulting fallout for the Nixon administration.

For years the Watergate complex also housed a 5-star hotel with a world class restaurant.  Most of the movers and shakers in world politics dined there on their visits to Washington during the years it was open.

The Watergate Hotel Restaurant was known for, of all things, their wonderful cookies.  Here is the recipe for one of their favorites.
