This is an awesome recipe! So much better than Captain Ds!!! My family loved it! I even dipped some shrimp in the leftover batter and fried them and they were delicious as well!

    • Sherry, could you tell me how long you fried the fish for, and what size pieces you used? Thank you.

  4. I’m curious to know if Captain D’s actually uses beer in their recipe? Is this common knowledge to all customers? Not that I am an alcoholic, but I would bet there are plenty of customers that are, and don’t know there’s alcohol in their food. Also, there are children that eat there all the time.
I realize it’s only a cup of beer, which is not a big amount, in my opinion, but it may be to others.
    Just sayin’…

  5. Was wondering how long you fried the fish for? I’m sure it depends on the size of the fish, but an approximate time would be helpful, since I don’t cook with fish all that often. Thank you.

When alcohol is in cooked food- the flavor remains, but the alcohol cooks out.
