12 Bones Smokehouse Honey Cornbread Recipe
Ingredients
- 2 cups All-Purpose Flour
- 2 cups plain Cornmeal
- 1 cup Sugar
- 1 1/2 teaspoons Kosher Salt
- 2 tablespoons Baking Powder
- 2 teaspoons rubbed Sage
- 1 teaspoon freshly coarse-ground Black Pepper to taste
- 1 teaspoon Paprika
- 1/2 cup Vegetable Oil
- 2 Eggs
- 3/4 cup Creamed Corn
- 2 tablespoons Honey
- 1 small Onion minced
- 2 cups Buttermilk
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F.
- In a medium-size bowl, add flour, cornmeal, sugar, salt, baking powder, sage, black pepper and paprika. Whisk to mix well. Set aside. In a large mixing bowl, add vegetable oil, eggs, corn, honey, onion and buttermilk. Whisk to mix well.
- Slowly add the flour mixture to the wet mixture, whisking together until all is incorporated, but taking care not to over-mix.
- Spray a baking pan with pan spray.
- Pour the cornbread batter into the pan. Swirl around until it is evenly distributed.
- Place in preheated oven. Bake for 15 minutes.
- Turn the pan. Bake for another 5 minutes or until golden.
- Remove from oven and turn out onto a plate.
- Cut into pieces and serve hot.
