Watergate Hotel Mom’s Apple Crisp Recipe

Ingredients

  • 3 Apples (Granny Smith are good)
  • 1/2 cup Brown Sugar
  • Lemon Juice
  • 2 tablespoons Cinnamon
  • 1 cup Flour
  • 3/4 cup Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Powder
  • A pinch of Salt
  • Cinnamon
  • 1/3 cup melted Butter
  • 1 Egg

Directions

  1. Toss the apples with the brown sugar, lemon juice and 1 tablespoon cinnamon until apples are well coated.
  2. Place apples in oven safe pan.
  3. Mix the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt and 1 tablespoon cinnamon in a bowl.
  4. Add the eggs and about 1/2 of the butter.
  5. Spread mixture over top of apples and add the remainder of the butter on top of the crisp.
  6. Bake at 350 degrees or until deep golden brown and is bubbling.
