Legal Sea Foods Coleslaw – A Creamy, Tangy Side Dish
Legal Sea Foods’ Coleslaw is a creamy and tangy side dish that perfectly complements the restaurant’s fresh seafood offerings. This coleslaw is made with shredded cabbage, onions, and carrots, all coated in a rich dressing made from mayonnaise and sour cream. The method of blanching the cabbage in boiling water before mixing it with the other ingredients results in a softer texture that absorbs the creamy dressing beautifully.

Cole Slaw
Cole Slaw, a beloved side dish, is a refreshing and crisp combination of shredded cabbage, carrots, and sometimes other vegetables, all dressed in a tangy and creamy dressing. This versatile dish has roots in Dutch cuisine but has become a staple in various culinary traditions, particularly American barbecue and Southern cooking. The shredded vegetables provide a satisfying crunch, while the dressing, often a blend of mayonnaise, vinegar, sugar, and mustard, contributes a harmonious balance of sweetness and acidity.
Cole slaw’s popularity stems from its ability to complement a wide range of main courses, from barbecued meats to fried chicken and sandwiches. Its refreshing nature makes it a popular choice during warmer seasons, offering a cool contrast to heartier dishes. Variations abound, with some recipes incorporating ingredients like apples, raisins, or even jalapeños for added complexity.
Beyond its role as a side dish, cole slaw often finds its way into sandwiches, tacos, or wraps, enhancing the overall texture and flavor.
