Emeril's Banana Cream Pie Recipe

Emeril's Famous Banana Cream Pie with caramel drizzle sauce and chocolate shavings. Emeril's signature dessert since 1990, created by Emeril Lagasse and his founding pastry chef, Mr. Lou.

Ingredients

  • 1 envelope unflavored Gelatin
  • 1/4 cup cold Water
  • 6 ounces Semi-Sweet Chocolate
  • 1 1/2 cups Heavy or Whipping Cream
  • 1/3 cup Sugar
  • 2 tablespoons Sweet Butter
  • 2 tablespoons unsweetened Cocoa Powder
  • 2 teaspoons Vanilla Extract
  • Cocoa Graham Cracker Crust see recipe below
  • 4 Bananas sliced

Instructions

  • In blender or food processor, sprinkle unflavored gelatin over cold water and let stand 2 minutes.
  • In medium saucepan, heat chocolate, 1/2 cup heavy cream, sugar, butter and cocoa over low heat, stirring occasionally, until melted.
  • Stir in vanilla.
  • Add hot mixture to food processor or blender. Process at low speed until gelatin is dissolved completely, about 2 minutes.
  • Pour into bowl and chill until mixture mounds, about 1 hour.
  • In clean bowl, beat remaining 1 cup heavy cream until stiff. Fold into chocolate mixture.
  • Spoon 1/3 chocolate mixture into prepared crust.
  • Top with half of bananas. Repeat layers, ending with chocolate.
  • Garnish, if desired, with additional whipped cream.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups Graham Cracker Crumbs
  • 1/2 cup melted Butter
  • 1/2 cup Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
  • 1/2 cup Sugar

Instructions

  • In large bowl, combine graham cracker crumbs, butter, unsweetened cocoa powder and sugar. Mix well.
  • Press into 9-inch pie pan.
  • Bake in preheated 375°F oven for 8 minutes.
  • Cool on wire cooling rack.
