Arthur Treacher's Hush Puppies Recipe
Ingredients
- Oil for frying
- 2 1/4 cups Biscuit Mix
- 2/3 cup Club Soda
- 3 tablespoons Dried Minced Onion
- 1 tablespoon Cornmeal
- 1 teaspoon Onion Powder
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 300°F.
- Fill a heavy saucepan or deep fryer with oil to at least 3 inches deep.
- Place on stovetop and heat to 425°F.
- In a large bowl, add biscuit mix, club soda, minced onion, cornmeal and onion powder. Mix well.
- Shape the hush puppies into 1-inch balls.
- Carefully drop puppies, a few at a time, into hot oil. Fry and turn until evenly browned, about 4 minutes.
- Using a spider strainer or slotted spoon, remove puppies from oil and place on a paper towel-covered plate to drain.
- After drained, put puppies on a cookie sheet and place in warmed oven. Repeat frying, draining and warming until all puppies are cooked.
- Keep warm until ready to serve.

Not even close. Just figure out the proportions from their own brandname box from the grocery store and you got it. All you add to the dry ingredients is milk and egg.
