Ingredients

  • 2 pounds Brussels Sprouts
  • 4 tablespoons Vegetable Oil
  • 2 tablespoons Demerara Sugar
  • 6 tablespoons Butter melted
  • Salt and freshly ground Black Pepper to taste
  • 5 pieces Bacon cooked crisp and roughly chopped
  • 15- year aged Balsamic Vinegar or Balsamic Glaze Find at most large supermarkets or upscale markets

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 425°F.
  • Wash and trim the bud end of the Brussels sprouts. Cut in half and remove any loose outer leaves.
  • In a large mixing bowl, add vegetable oil, demerara sugar, melted butter, salt and pepper. Mix to combine until sugar and salt are dissolved.
  • Add Brussels sprouts to oil/butter mixture. Stir until Brussels sprouts are well-coated.
  • Place Brussels sprouts on a sheet pan, flat side down.
  • Place in preheated oven. Roast for 20 minutes, or until a skewer or fork is able to pass through with slight resistance. Remove from oven.
  • Sprinkle with chopped bacon.
  • Return pan to oven for an additional 3 minutes.
  • Transfer Brussels sprouts and bacon mix to a serving dish.
  • Drizzle with 15-year balsamic vinegar or balsamic glaze.
  • Serve warm.
