Ingredients

Dough

  • 2 tablespoons Instant Yeast
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons Honey
  • 3/4 cup Warm Water (below 110°F)
  • 2 cups Bread Flour
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons Olive Oil
  • 2 teaspoons Salt

Sauce

  • 6 ounces Tomato Paste
  • 6 ounces Crushed Tomatoes
  • 1 tablespoon Honey
  • 1 teaspoon Oregano
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Onion Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Salt

Toppings

  • 1 cup Monterey Jack Cheese shredded
  • 1 cup Cheddar Cheese shredded
  • 1/2 cup Bacon Bits smoked
  • 1 cup Roma Tomatoes quartered
  • 1/2 cup Artichoke Hearts halved
  • 1/2 cup Red Onions thinly sliced
  • Honey for drizzling, to serve

Instructions

Dough

  • In a mixing bowl, dissolve yeast and 1 1/2 tablespoons honey in warm water. Set aside and let rest until bubbly, about 5 minutes.
  • Add flour, olive oil and 2 teaspoons salt. Mix/knead 3 - 5 minutes until smooth.
  • Cover and set aside to rest for 30 minutes.

Sauce

  • In a saucepan, combine tomato paste, crushed tomatoes, 1 tablespoon honey, oregano, garlic powder, onion powder and 1 teaspoon salt. Place over medium heat and simmer 10 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside.

Shape the Pizza

  • Preheat oven to 450°F.
  • Roll dough into a 12-inch circle with a 2-inch overhang. Transfer to a perforated or oiled pizza pan.
  • Dock the dough center and fold the edge inward to form a braided rim.

Assemble

  • Spread sauce over dough center, leaving braid exposed.
  • Top with cheeses, bacon bits, tomatoes, artichokes and red onions.

Bake and Finish

  • Place pizza in preheated oven and bake 18 - 20 minutes, until crust is golden and cheese bubbly.
  • Remove, let rest 3 minutes
  • Drizzle with honey, cut and serve.
