Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 tablespoons Olive Oil
  • 2 tablespoons Shallots minced
  • 1/2 tablespoon Onion Powder
  • 3/4 cup Blackberry Brandy
  • 6 tablespoon Red Wine Vinegar
  • 3/4 cup Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1 1/2 cups Ketchup
  • 1/4 cup Honey
  • 1/4 cup Marionberry Purée or Blackberry Purée

Instructions

  • Pour oil into a medium skillet. Place over medium heat.
  • When oil is hot and shimmering, add shallots. Sauté until light brown.
  • Add onion powder. Sauté for one minute.
  • Deglaze with blackberry brandy and reduce by 1/4.
  • Add red wine vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, ketchup, honey and marionberry puree. Bring to a boil, then lower heat and simmer for 40 minutes.
  • Blend with immersion blender for one minute to puree shallots.
  • Store in a tightly sealed container, in the refrigerator, until ready to serve. If using as a dip, bring to room temperature or heat before serving.
