- 1 1/2 tablespoons Butter
- 1 1/2 tablespoons All Purpose Flour
- 1 1/2 cups Whole Milk
- 1 Bay Leaf
- 1/2 teaspoon Salt
- 1/2 cup Parmesan Cheese grated
- Tiny pinch Nutmeg
- Dash Tabasco Sauce
Place butter in medium saucepan. Place over medium heat.
When butter has melted and is hot (do not burn), add flour. Whisk for about one minute, until well combined.
Add milk and add bay leaf. Whisk to combine.
Increase heat to medium high. Bring mixture to boil while whisking.
Reduce heat to medium and cook sauce for 5 minutes.
Remove from heat and whisk in cheese, salt, nutmeg and Tabasco.
Keep sauce warm until ready to use or serve.
