Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons Olive Oil
  • 6 cloves Garlic finely minced
  • One 28-ounce can Crushed San Marzano Tomatoes
  • 1 teaspoon dried Oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried Basil
  • 1/4 teaspoon Crushed Red Pepper Flakes
  • Salt and freshly ground Black Pepper to taste
  • 2 teaspoons Sugar optional, for acidity balance
  • 1 tablespoon finely chopped fresh Parsley

Instructions

  • Heat olive oil in a saucepan over medium heat until shimmering.
  • Add garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant but not browned.
  • Pour in crushed tomatoes and stir to combine.
  • Add oregano, basil, red pepper flakes, salt, black pepper, and sugar if needed.
  • Reduce heat to low and simmer uncovered for 20 - 25 minutes, stirring occasionally, until slightly thickened.
  • Taste and adjust seasoning. Stir in fresh parsley if using.
  • Serve warm with mozzarella sticks, pasta or as a pizza base.
This sauce freezes beautifully. Make a double batch and enjoy the garlic-rich depth again and again.
