Ingredients

  • 1 cup Ketchup
  • 1/4 cup Apple Cider Vinegar
  • 1/4 cup Brown Sugar packed
  • 2 tablespoons Molasses
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon Mustard
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Onion Powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Smoked Paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon Chipotle Chili Powder to taste and heat preference
  • 1/4 teaspoon Cayenne Pepper to taste and heat preference
  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground Black Pepper to taste
  • 1/4 cup Water adjust for desired consistency

Instructions

  • In a medium mixing bowl, combine ketchup, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar and molasses. Whisk until smooth.
  • Stir in Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, chipotle chili powder, cayenne pepper, salt and black pepper. Mix thoroughly to ensure the spices are evenly distributed.
  • Pour sauce into a medium saucepan.
  • Place over medium heat. Cook, stirring occasionally, and bring mixture to a gentle simmer. Reduce heat to low and allow the sauce to cook for 10 - 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Remove from heat. If the sauce is too thick, add water a tablespoon at a time, whisking to combine, until it reaches your desired consistency.
  • Allow sauce to cool to room temperature.
  • Transfer to a clean jar or bottle with a tight-fitting lid. Store in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.
