- 2 1/4 cups All-Purpose Flour
- 1 teaspoon Baking Soda
- 1/2 teaspoon Salt
- 1 cup 2 sticks Unsalted Butter, softened
- 3/4 cup Granulated Sugar
- 3/4 cup packed Light Brown Sugar
- 2 large Eggs
- 2 teaspoons Pure Vanilla Extract
- 1 package (11 ounces) Ghirardelli Double Chocolate Chips
- 1 cup Chopped Walnuts or Pecans optional
Preheat oven to 375°F.
Line two baking sheets with parchment paper or silicone baking mats.
In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda and salt. Set aside.
In a large mixing bowl, use an electric mixer to cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar and brown sugar until light and fluffy, about 2 - 3 minutes.
Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
Mix in the vanilla extract until fully incorporated.
Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients, mixing on low speed until just combined. Avoid overmixing to prevent tough cookies.
Fold in Ghirardelli Double Chocolate Chips and chopped nuts (if using) until evenly distributed throughout the dough.
Using a tablespoon or a small cookie scoop, drop rounded balls of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart to allow for spreading.
Place pan in the preheated oven. Bake for 9 - 11 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the centers are set but still soft.
Remove from oven.
Let the cookies cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring them to wire racks to cool completely.
