Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup + 2 tablespoons Unsalted Butter 1 3/4 sticks
  • 1 1/2 cups packed Light Brown Sugar
  • 1 cup Heavy Cream
  • 1/2 teaspoon Vanilla Extract

Instructions

  • In a heavy 1 1/2- to 2-quart saucepan, melt butter over moderate heat.
  • Stir in brown sugar and bring mixture to a boil, stirring occasionally.
  • Stir in cream and vanilla extract. Simmer, stirring occasionally, until slightly thickened, about 5 minutes. Cool to warm.
  • Can be done in advance. Warm before using.
