Instructions
In a heavy 1 1/2- to 2-quart saucepan, melt butter over moderate heat.
Stir in brown sugar and bring mixture to a boil, stirring occasionally.
Stir in cream and vanilla extract. Simmer, stirring occasionally, until slightly thickened, about 5 minutes. Cool to warm.
Can be done in advance. Warm before using.
