- 1 large head Broccoli cut into florets (about 4 cups)
- 2 tablespoons Vegetable Oil
- 4 cloves Garlic minced
- 1 teaspoon Fresh Ginger minced
- 1 tablespoon Soy Sauce
- 1 tablespoon Oyster Sauce (or use Hoisin Sauce for vegetarian option)
- 1 tablespoon Shaoxing Wine or Dry Sherry
- 1 teaspoon Chili Garlic Sauce to taste
- 1/2 teaspoon Toasted Sesame Oil
- 1 teaspoon Cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons Water (to make a slurry to thicken sauce)
- 1/4 cup Water or Vegetable Broth
- Salt to taste
Bring a pot of salted water to a boil.
Add broccoli and blanch for 1 - 2 minutes until bright green. Drain and set aside.
In a wok or large skillet, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat.
When oil is hot and shimmering, add garlic and ginger. Stir-fry 30 seconds until fragrant.
Add soy sauce, oyster sauce, Shaoxing wine, chili garlic sauce, sesame oil and water or broth. Stir to combine.
Add cornstarch slurry. Cook until sauce thickens slightly, about 1 minute.
Toss in blanched broccoli. Stir to coat evenly in the sauce.
Taste. Season with salt as needed.
Serve hot as a main or side dish.
