Ingredients

For the Chicken

  • 4 boneless skinless Chicken Breast Fillets about 4 - 6 ounces each
  • Kosher Salt to taste
  • Freshly ground Black Pepper to taste
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Paprika
  • 2 tablespoons Olive Oil

For the Maple Pepper Bacon

  • 8 slices thick-cut Bacon
  • 2 tablespoons pure Maple Syrup
  • 1/2 teaspoon coarsely cracked Black Pepper

For the Maple Pepper Sauce

  • 1/4 cup Mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons Maple Syrup
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon Mustard
  • 1/4 teaspoon Cracked Black Pepper

For Assembly

  • 4 Sandwich Buns brioche or potato rolls recommended
  • 4 - 8 Butter Lettuce leaves
  • 8 - 12 slices Dill Pickles

Instructions

  • In a skillet over medium heat, cook bacon until it’s about halfway crisp.
  • Remove excess fat.
  • Drizzle maple syrup over the bacon and sprinkle with cracked black pepper. Continue cooking until glazed and crisp. Transfer to a paper-towel-lined plate.
  • Pat chicken breasts dry. Season both sides with salt, pepper, garlic powder and paprika.
  • Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high.
  • When oil is hot and shimmering, add chicken and cook 6 - 8 minutes per side until golden and internal temp reaches 165°F. Remove from pan and let rest.

Sauce

  • In a small bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, maple syrup, Dijon mustard and cracked black pepper until smooth.

Assemble

  • Lightly toast sandwich buns in the skillet or under a broiler until warm and just golden.
  • Spread a generous layer of maple pepper sauce on both bun halves.
  • Add the chicken breast, 2 slices of maple pepper bacon, lettuce and pickles.
  • Close the sandwich and serve while warm.
Serving Tip: Serve with sweet potato fries or a crisp side salad for contrast - the peppery maple combo pairs beautifully with bright, crisp sides.
