Ingredients

  • 1 pound Ground Sirloin, Ground Beef or Ground Chuck
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon freshly ground Black Pepper to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Onion Powder
  • 1/2 cup Mayonnaise
  • 1/2 cup Ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons Sweet Relish
  • 4 slices American Cheese
  • 4 Sesame Seed Hamburger Buns
  • 1/3 cup sliced Pickles
  • 4 Lettuce Leaves
  • 2 large Tomatoes sliced
  • 1 small White Onion sliced thin

Instructions

  • In a large bowl, combine ground sirloin, salt, pepper, garlic powder and onion powder. Mix with a wooden spoon or your hands until evenly incorporated.
  • Divide mixture into 4 equal portions.
  • Shape each portion into a thin patty. Place the patties on a parchment-lined baking sheet and place in freezer for 30 minutes to chill and help them hold their shape.
  • Heat an indoor grill pan or outdoor grill, with the grates covered with aluminum foil, to high heat.
  • Once hot, place frozen patties on the grill. Cook for about 4 minutes on the first side. Flip and cook for another 2 - 3 minutes on the second side.
  • Turn off the heat or move patties to a cooler part of the grill and place a slice of American cheese on top of each patty to melt.
  • Lightly toast the hamburger buns on grill.
  • Spread mayonnaise on both halves of toasted buns.
  • In a small bowl, combine ketchup and sweet relish. Mix well and set aside.
  • On the bottom half of each bun, layer pickles, lettuce, tomato slices, onion slices and a cheesy burger patty.
  • Spread the ketchup-relish sauce on the top half of the bun. Place top bun over the stack.
  • Serve the burgers immediately and enjoy.
