Legal Sea Foods BBQ Sauce Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup dried Cherries or Cranberries
  • 1/2 cup Red Wine
  • 1 cup of your favorite BBQ Sauce store bought or homemade, of choice
  • 1/2 - 1 teaspoon Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1 tablespoon A1 Sauce (See Box Below for this Recipe)
  • Red Pepper Flakes
  • 1 tablespoon Honey
  • 1/2 teaspoon Cider Vinegar

Instructions

  • Place dried fruit in a saucepan. Add enough water to just cover the dried fruit.
  • Place over high heat and bring to a boil.
  • Lower heat and simmer for 10 minutes, being careful to not let it boil dry. Add water, if needed.
  • Add wine. Gently simmer for another 20 minutes, or until all but about 2 teaspoons of liquid is absorbed. Remove from heat.
  • Add barbecue sauce Worcestershire sauce, A1 sauce, a generous sprinkling of red pepper flakes, honey and cider vinegar.
  • Place pan back on the stove, over medium high heat. Bring mixture to a boil. Lower heat and bring to a simmer. Simmer, stirring occasionally for about 15 minutes.
  • Remove from heat. Cool slightly.
  • Place mixture in a blender. Blend just long enough to break up the fruit, about 10 - 15 seconds.
  • Store in a tightly sealed container, in the refrigerator, until ready to serve up to 2 weeks.
