Ingredients

  • 4 tablespoons Butter
  • 2 slices Brioche Bread sliced 2 inches thick
  • Village Tavern French Toast Batter (See Box Below for this Recipe)
  • Powdered Sugar to serve
  • 1 cup fresh Strawberries, sliced thin or into halves, or any fresh Berries
  • Maple Syrup to serve

Instructions

  • Prepare Village Tavern French Toast Batter according to the recipe linked to in the Box below. Set aside.
  • Preheat oven to 250°F.
  • Place a large non-stick, oven-safe sauté pan over medium heat.
  • Place 2 tablespoon butter in pan.
  • Pour prepared Village Tavern French Toast Batter into a shallow bowl large enough to place the bread slices in.
  • When butter has melted and is hot, dip sliced Brioche in prepared Village Tavern French Toast Batter. Turn to coat both side.
  • Remove bread, allowing excess batter to drip off, and place in heated sauté pan.
  • Cook each side of bread for about 3 minutes, until golden.
  • Remove bread to a plate. Repeat to cook second slice.
  • Return both slices to pan (crowd if you need to) and place pan in the oven. Cook for 3 more minutes.
  • Remove pan from oven. Place toast slices on a plate.
  • Cut each slice into half. Arrange the triangle pieces on a plate.
  • Dust with powdered sugar.
  • Serve with fresh berries and maple syrup, if desired.
