Ingredients

  • 2 cups All-Purpose Flour
  • 1 Egg beaten
  • 2 teaspoons dried Parsley
  • 2 teaspoons Garlic Powder
  • 2 teaspoons dried Oregano
  • Salt and freshly ground Black Pepper to taste
  • 1 cup good Beer Not light
  • 1 cup or more Oil for frying
  • 3 large Onions peeled, sliced into thick rings and separated

Instructions

  • In a large shallow bowl, add flour, egg, parsley, garlic powder, oregano, salt and pepper. Mix to combine.
  • Slowly pour in beer, stirring, until a thick batter forms. Stop adding beer when you reach your desired consistency of the batter. Drink the rest. ;)
  • Add oil to a heavy frying pan to about 2 inches deep .
  • Place pan over medium-high heat and heat oil until hot and shimmering.
  • When oil is hot, dip onions rings, a few at a time, in batter. Allow excess batter to drip off and carefully place in hot oil.
  • Fry rings for a few minutes, turning once, until evenly browned on both sides. Remove to a paper towel-covered plate to drain.
  • Continue until all rings are fried.
  • Serve hot with Dipping Sauces (See Box below for Links to Some Good Ones!)
