Prepare Aladdin's Eatery Honey Syrup according to the recipe in the Box below. Set aside and allow to cool to room temperature or in a refrigerator.
Preheat oven to 350°F.
Use shortening to grease an 18 x 12-inch heavy pan with high sides. Do not use a cookie sheet.
Spread 1/2 of the phyllo dough across bottom.
In a small bowl, combine nuts, cinnamon and sugar. Mix well.
Sprinkle nut mixture evenly over of dough.
Top evenly with remaining 1/2 of phyllo dough.
With a sharp knife, slice diagonal crisscross cuts through dough, about an inch apart, creating diamond-shaped pieces.
Pour melted shortening over all.
Place pan in preheated oven and bake for 45 minutes.
Remove from over and pour cold syrup over all.
Let baklava cool before serving.
