Ingredients

Fondue

  • 4 ounces good Lager Beer, of choice (Not Light)
  • 3 ounces Tomato Salsa, store bought or homemade, of choice (See Box Below for Links to Recipes)
  • 8 ounces Cheddar Cheese freshly shredded
  • 2 ounces Emmenthaler Swiss Cheese freshly shredded
  • 2 tablespoons Flour or Cornstarch to thicken
  • 1 Jalapeño seeded and finely diced

Dippers

  • 3 ounces Rye Bread cut into cubes
  • 3 ounces Italian Bread cut into cubes
  • 3 ounces Pumpernickel Bread cut into cubes
  • 2 Apples cut into cubes
  • 3 ounces Tortilla Chips

Instructions

  • Prepare dippers. Set aside. Prepare dippers in advance, if desired. Cover and refrigerate, if preparing more than a few minutes in advance.
  • Prepare a double boiler.
  • Once water is boiling and top pot is hot, pour beer inside.
  • Add in salsa. Mix well.
  • Very slowly, add cheeses, stirring constantly, until you get the consistency that you desire.
  • Mix in 1/4 of a teaspoon jalapeño, more or less, to taste and heat preference.
  • Serve hot with prepared dippers.
