Ingredients

  • 2 cups All-Purpose Flour
  • 3 teaspoons Garlic Powder or Granulated Garlic divided
  • 2 1/2 teaspoons Baking Powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Baking Soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon Chicken Bouillon Granules
  • 1/2 cup Butter-Flavored Shortening Best or Regular Shortening
  • 3/4 cup shredded Sharp Cheddar Cheese
  • 3 tablespoon dried Parsley Flakes divided
  • 1 cup Buttermilk
  • 3 tablespoons Butter melted

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 450°F
  • In a small bowl, add flour, 2 teaspoons garlic powder, baking powder, baking soda and chicken bouillon granules. Whisk to combine.
  • Cut in shortening until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  • Add cheese and 2 tablespoons dried parsley flakes. Mix well.
  • Stir in buttermilk, just until moistened.
  • Drop by heaping tablespoonfuls onto a greased baking sheet, 1 inch apart.
  • Place baking sheet in preheated oven. Bake for 10 minutes.
  • Remove from oven. Leave oven on.
  • Combine butter with remaining garlic powder. Brush generously over biscuits.
  • Return to oven. Bake 4 minutes longer or until golden brown.
  • Remove from oven. Sprinkle with remaining dried parsley flakes.
  • Serve warm.
