Outback Steakhouse Loaded Blooming Onion
Ok Outback – we’ve seen your loaded blooming onion and we’re hooked. A deep fried onion covered with cheesy bacon fries? But why are they a limited edition item? They should be a permanent fixture on the menu – but just in case you decide to take them away, we’ve whipped up a homemade version to satiate our comfort food cravings!

Outback Steakhouse Loaded Blooming Onion Recipe
Inspired by Outback Steakhouse
Ingredients
- 1 Blooming Onion (Recipe is in the video – OR follow or Secret Copycat Restaurant Recipe for the Original Outback Steakhouse Bloomin’ Onion by CLICKING HERE NOW)
- 1 1/2 cups French Fries
- 1/4 teaspoon Seasoning Salt
- 1/4 teaspoon Onion Powder
- 1/4 teaspoon dried Oregano
- 2/3 cup Mexican-Blend Shredded Cheese
- 2 strips cooked Bacon, diced
- Non-Stick Cooking Spray
- 1 cup Ranch Dressing (OR Go all in and make the original Outback Steakhouse’s Blooming Onion Creamy Chili Dipping Sauce Recipe by CLICKING HERE NOW)
- 1/4 teaspoon Cayenne Pepper
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350ºF.
- Prep outback-style blooming onion.
- Heat oil.
- Combine french fries with seasoning salt, onion powder, and oregano in a medium bowl and toss until well-mixed.
- Arrange seasoned fries on a small sheet tray sprayed with non-stick cooking spray.
- Bake for about 6 minutes, or until the fries have begun to crisp up slightly.
- While the fries are crisping up fry blooming onion. Place on paper towels to let excess oil drain off.
- Next, top the warm fries with cheese blend and bacon and bake for another 4 minutes or until cheese is melted and bubbling.
- Immediately top the blooming onion with the warm gooey cheese fries.
- Lastly mix together ranch dressing and cayenne pepper, to serve on the side.
