Cracker Barrels, located mainly near interstate highway exits, provide breakfast, lunch and dinner as well as a place to relax to weary travelers. The company’s gift shops offer various decorative and functional items, usually with a Country or Old Timey theme, as well as candies, preserves, pies, cornbread mixes, coffee, syrups, pancake mixes and other Southern food items.
As of 2020, it operated 663 stores in the US.

Cracker Barrel Lima Beans Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 Chicken Bouillon Cube
- 1 cup Water
- 6 ounces Ham Hocks, chopped or 3 strips thick-cut Bacon, cut into small pieces
- 2 pinches Red Pepper Flakes
- 1 clove Garlic peeled and lightly smashed
- One 16-ounce bag frozen Lima Beans or Baby Lima Beans
- Salt and freshly ground Black Pepper to taste
Instructions
- Place bouillon cube and water into a medium cooking pot.
- Place pot over medium heat and bring to a boil.
- Add all other ingredients.
- Reduce heat and cover pan. Allow to simmer for at least 25 minutes.
- Taste. Add salt and pepper, to taste.
- Serve.
