The first California Pizza Kitchen opened in Beverly Hills in 1985. Former federal prosecutors Rick Rosenfield and Larry Flax combined their passion for food with fresh high-quality ingredients to create innovative, hearth-baked pizzas such as The Original BBQ Chicken, Thai Chicken and Jamaican Jerk Chicken, cooked in an open kitchen.
The California twists on traditional pizza flavors gave California a place in the pizza pantheon alongside Chicago and New York and almost immediately CPK expanded from California to more than 250 locations in more than 30 states and 11 countries.

California Pizza Kitchen White Pizza Recipe
Make our California Pizza Kitchen White Pizza Recipe at home. With our Secret Restaurant Recipe your White Pizza will taste just like California Pizza Kitchen's.
Yield: 1 Pizza
Ingredients
- One 12-inch prepared Pizza Crust store bought or homemade
- 2 tablespoons Extra Virgin Olive Oil
- 1 clove Garlic minced or pressed
- Italian Blend Seasoning Mix to taste
- One 10-ounce package frozen Spinach thawed and well-drained
- 6 ounces Ricotta Cheese
- 8 ounces Mozzarella Cheese shredded or balls, cut into small pieces
- 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan Cheese
- 1/3 to 1/2 cup crumbled Feta Cheese
- 2 tablespoons fresh chopped Oregano
- 8 fresh Basil Leaves cut in strips
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 450°F.
- Place a small skillet over low heat.
- Add olive oil and garlic.
- Warm the oil and garlic, stirring occasionally, until garlic is slightly browned but not burnt. Remove from heat.
- Brush prepared crust with garlic olive oil.
- Sprinkle Italian spices over the crust, to taste.
- Spread drained spinach over crust.
- Drop dollops of ricotta cheese even on top.
- Top each with mozzarella cheese (spreading pieces evenly if using cut mozzarella balls)
- Sprinkle with Parmesan and feta cheeses.
- Place pizza on a pan.
- Place pizza in preheated oven and bake according to shell package directions or for about 10 - 15 minutes until cheese is melted and crust is golden.
- Remove from oven.
- Allow to cool for 5 minutes before slicing.
- Serve hot.
