Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons Olive Oil
  • 2 cloves Garlic peeled and minced
  • One 24-ounce can plain Tomato Sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon cracked Red Pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground Black Pepper to taste
  • 1 teaspoon dried Basil
  • 1/2 quart Heavy Cream
  • 1 1/2 ounces Vodka
  • 2 pounds Penne Pasta
  • 1 ounce or more, to taste, grated Romano Cheese to serve
  • 1 ounce or more,to taste, Bacon Bits, store bought, or homemade crumbled Bacon, of choice to serve
  • 1/2 ounce Italian Parsley chopped, to serve

Instructions

  • Pour oil into a medium sauce pan. Place pan over medium heat.
  • When oil is hot and shimmering, add garlic. Sauté until golden brown.
  • Add tomato sauce, salt, red pepper, black pepper, and basil. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until thoroughly heated.
  • Add heavy cream and vodka. Stir to mix. Cook for a few minutes.
  • Prepare pasta according to package directions. Drain.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine drained pasta with cream sauce. Mix thoroughly.
  • Transfer to a serving bowl.
  • Sprinkle with grated cheese, bacon, and parsley.
  • Serve immediately.
