Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons whole Coffee Beans
  • 2 tablespoons whole Black Peppercorns
  • 4 New York Strip Steaks about 1-inch thick
  • Vegetable Oil for brushing
  • Kosher Salt

Instructions

  • Place coffee beans and peppercorns in a food processor or coffee grinder. Grind just until coarse.
  • Place steaks on a cutting board or work surface.
  • Press coffee/pepper mixture evenly on top side of the steak. Carefully turn steaks over and repeat on back side.
  • Lightly brush grill grate with vegetable oil.
  • Grill the steaks directly over high heat, turning once, for about 8 to 10 minutes, or until cooked to the desired doness (See Steak Degrees of Doneness Box below for Cooking Temperatures). Remove the steaks from the grill.
  • Sprinkle both sides with salt, to season to taste.
  • Allow to rest for 2 to 3 minutes before serving.
