Ingredients

  • Famous Dave's Firecracker Chicken Wing Dust (See Box Below for this Recipe)
  • Chicken Marinade (See Box Below for this Recipe)
  • 12 Chicken Wings divided into drumettes and wingettes, tips discarded
  • Vegetable Oil to cook
  • 4 cups Flour
  • 1 stick Butter melted
  • Sweet and Sour Sauce, store bought or homemade, of choice, for dipping (See Box Below for a Link to this our easy-to-make and delicious Chinese Restaurant-Style Sweet and Sour Sauce Recipe)

Instructions

  • Prepare Famous Dave's Firecracker Chicken Wing Dust according to the recipe in the Box below. Set aside. Can be done in advance. Store in a sealed container in the pantry until ready to use.
  • Prepare Chicken Wing Marinade according to the recipe linked to in the Box below. Set aside.
  • Wash wings.
  • Place prepare marinade in a large sealable container or plastic bag.
  • Place wings in marinade. Seal and shake to mix.
  • Place in refrigerator and marinate for at least 4 hours or over night.
  • Place oil into a heavy skillet to about 3/4 inches deep.
  • Heat oil to 375°F.
  • Remove wings from marinade. Discard marinade.
  • Place flour in a medium bowl.
  • Toss wings, a few at a time, in flour until well-coated.
  • Place wings, a few at a time, do not crowd, into hot oil. Fry wings until golden brown, about 12 to 15 minutes.
  • Remove to a paper towel-covered plate to drain.
  • Continue until all wings are cooked.
  • Pour melted butter into a medium bowl.
  • Place cooked wings in butter and toss to coat well.
  • Remove to a large plate or a cooking sheet.
  • Generously sprinkle with wing dust, turning to fully coat. Alternately, for a fuller coating, place powder in a large sealable container. Add wings. Shake well to coat.
  • Serve hot with prepared Sweet and Sour Sauce, for dipping.
