Ingredients

Flavored Butter

  • 2 tablespoons Unsalted Butter softened
  • 1/2 tablespoon chopped Chives
  • 1/2 tablespoon freshly grated Ginger
  • 1 tablespoon freshly squeezed Lemon Juice
  • 1/2 tablespoon low sodium Soy Sauce

Salmon

  • Four 6-ounce Salmon Fillets
  • Olive Oil as needed
  • Salt and freshly ground Black Pepper to taste

Instructions

Flavored Butter

  • In a small bowl, add butter, chives, ginger, lemon juice and soy sauce. Mix well. Set aside.

Salmon

  • Place salmon fillets on a work plate, skin side down.
  • Drizzle with olive oil. Spread oil evenly with a brush or your fingers.
  • Season with salt and pepper, to taste. Set aside briefly.
  • Preheat grill or grill pan.
  • Rub grates with a paper towel dipped in oil.
  • Place salmon, skin side down, on hot grill. Cook for 4 to 5 minutes, until the skin is lightly charred and crisp.
  • Flip fillets over. Cook for another 2 to 3 minutes on the flesh side until the flesh flakes with gentle pressure from your finger but is still slightly translucent in the middle. Remove if you like your salmon cooked to medium. For well done leave it on another 2 to 3 minutes.
  • Remove skin before serving, if desired.
  • Place salmon on serving plates, alone or atop prepared rice, noodles, grilled asparagus, etc., if desired.
  • Place a generous dollop of prepared flavored butter on top of hot salmon and allow to melt as you serve.
