Ingredients

  • Four 4-ounce 1-inch thick Salmon Steaks
  • 1 cup Dry White Wine
  • 1/2 cup Olive Oil
  • 3 cloves Garlic peeled and mashed
  • 4 tablespoons melted Butter
  • 1 teaspoon dried Thyme

Instructions

  • Place salmon steaks in a glass baking dish.
  • Pour wine over top. Turn steaks over to cover completely with wine.
  • Place dish in the refrigerator and allow the salmon to marinate for 2 - 4 hours.
  • Prepare a hot barbecue grill. If you're cooking with charcoal, prepare an area that will enable you to later cook with a medium heat.
  • Remove salmon steaks from the refrigerator.
  • Remove the steaks from the dish to a plate. Discard the wine.
  • In a mixing bowl add olive oil, garlic, melted butter and dried thyme. Mix well.
  • Place salmon steaks on the hot grill.
  • Baste with prepared sauce.
  • Grill about 3 minutes. Turn over. Baste new upper side with prepared sauce. Grill about 4 minutes.
  • Move salmon steaks to medium hot area of the grill and cook until they are tender and flaky. Be very careful that you do not allow them to overcook and become dry.
  • Serve hot.
