Ingredients

  • Two 8-ounce Beef Tenderloin Steaks cut 1-inch thick
  • 2 teaspoons Olive Oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon Onion Powder
  • Salt and freshly ground Black Pepper to taste
  • 2 slices Bacon
  • 2 tablespoons minced Shallots

Instructions

  • Place oven rack in it's highest position. Set oven to Broil.
  • Place steaks on a plate or cutting board.
  • Rub steaks all over with olive oil.
  • Sprinkle with onion powder and salt and pepper. Rub in.
  • Wrap 1 slice of bacon around each steak. Secure ends with a toothpick.
  • Place steaks onto a broiler pan.
  • Place pan in hot oven. Broil for 5 to 7 minutes.
  • Turn the steaks over. Sprinkle the tops with shallots. Place back in oven and broil for an additional 5 to 7 minutes, or until the steaks are cooked to your liking (See "Steak Degrees of Doneness" Chart below).
