Ingredients

  • 1 pound fresh Button Mushrooms
  • 2 tablespoons Olive Oil
  • 2 tablespoons chopped Yellow Onion
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh Garlic
  • 1 tablespoon finely chopped fresh Thyme
  • 1 teaspoon Saltgrass Steak Spice or other Steak Spice store bought or homemade, of choice
  • 4 tablespoons Butter

Instructions

  • Wipe mushrooms with a damp cloth until all dirt is removed. Place cleaned mushrooms on a paper towel-covered plate and allow to dry for about 3 minutes before adding them to the hot oil.
  • Place olive oil in a skillet. Place skillet over high heat and heat until oil is hot and shimmering.
  • Carefully add mushrooms to skillet. Sauté, stirring occasionally with a wooden spoon, until lightly browned and most of the water is reduced out of mushrooms, about 10 minutes.
  • Reduce heat on skillet.
  • Add garlic, onion and thyme. Sauté for 1 minute, stirring constantly to keep garlic from burning.
  • Add steak spice.
  • After the liquid boils, turn heat on skillet down.
  • Add butter. Simmer until thickened, about 3 - 5 minutes.
  • Serve hot as a side or topping for any dish you like.
