Prepare Captain D's Russian Dressing according to the recipe below. Set aside.
Place a large, oven-safe skillet into a cold oven. Preheat oven, with pan inside, to 350°F.
While the oven is warming, place salmon fillets on a plate. Season each fillet with salt and pepper, to taste. Turn over and season the other side.
In a wide bowl, combine butter and lemon juice.
Place salmon fillets in the dish one at at time, turning to coat. Place coated fish back on plate.
Sprinkle with fresh dill.
Using a pot holder or oven mitt, carefully remove the hot skillet from the oven and place on a safe surface.
Place salmon fillets into the skillet, skin-side down. (Be careful and don't let any oil splatter on you.)
Using a pot holder or oven mitt, carefully return the still-hot skillet to the oven.
Bake, uncovered, for about 12 - 15 minutes, or until the salmon flakes easily.
If you prefer you can test for temperature - It should be at least 145°F. If salmon isn't done, return to oven and cook further in 1 minute intervals.
While salmon is cooking, divide the lettuce between 2 plates.
Sprinkle with red onion.
When the salmon fillets are done, place one fillet on top of the lettuce of each plate.
Arrange the tomatoes around the salmon.
Drizzle Captain D's Russian Dressing over the salad and serve.
